And so the story goes…

April 6, 2007

like this, sung to the tune of "I’ve Been Working on the Railroad", the first verse and chorus tune only.

I’ve been camping at the river,
all the live long day.
I’ve been digging up old fossils,
just to while the time away.

I’ve not seen an alli-ga-tor,
but I’m looking about;
If one tries to snatch my chi-ld,
I’ll hit him on the snout.

This mom went to camp.
This mom went to camp,
got to see my sons in their element.

This mom made it through.
You can do it too.
Camp-ing will make you
tried and true.

I’ve been sifting through the shark teeth,
ten and twenty a time;
The youngest is collect-ing,
he’s got his own gold mine.

The other two are swimming, run-ning,
wild and being boys;
Camping down at the ri-ver,
nature provides the toys.

This mom went to camp.
This mom went to camp,
got to see my sons in their element.

This mom made it through.
You can do it too.
Camp-ing will make you
tried and true.

When I shower in the bath house,
balance is quite key;
Dare not touch the side or wall-s;
it’s all agility.

Eating beside the fi-re,
there’s no better style;
All the dishes are disposed of,
no washing for this gal.

This mom went to camp.
This mom went to camp,
got to see my sons in their element

This mom made it through.
You can do it too.
Camp-ing will make you
tried and true.

I’ve been camping at the ri-ver,
all the week long break.
I’m so thankful to the Lo-rd,
for all He did create.

Camping isn’t just for he-roes,
but e’en a mom like me.
Maybe you’ll be asked to try it,
just you wait and see.

This mom went to camp.
This mom went to camp,
got to see my sons in their element

This mom made it through.
You can do it too.
Camp-ing will make you
tried and true.

*More details to come later.  Still catching up and still washing laundry.  Camping might actually have been easier–I just threw the clothes away!
