Such a wonderful post!

I loved Piper's article, too. In a culture where the Word of God is boring, people have devised their own plans on how to know God...they are all faulty, I'm afraid. In God's Word we find who God is and what we are to be as a result of loving Him. We must read and meditate on the Truth.

Elle, that was an excellent article! Thank you for showing me. It is true that in the world a higher value is often placed on interpretations and opinions about the Bible than the book itself. I do think we are peas in a pod in many areas.

I've had company for a week and a big church meeting all weekend, so I've got some bloggy catching up to do!

Yes, Piper's article is excellent, and so is this post, Elle.

You said, "I'm flat on my face grateful for His mercy to seek me, save me and sanctify me, a sinner, through His Word, Living and Written. (Jn 1:14; 2 Tim 3:16-17)"

And I say, "Amen and amen and amen," to that statement, my friend.

I read Piper's excellent article the first day it was posted. I've seen several refer to it, but this tops them all. Good stuff, Elle.

I also read the CT article, and the (at the time I read it)155 comments praising it. Where is our discretion???

It is an amazing article by Piper. And this is an excellent companion post.

I forgot to post my quote of the week yesterday, and this is going in my sidebar this week:

"The day I began to read the Bible for myself, with solid study methods, in contextual truth, seeing Scripture interpret Scripture was the day my mind began to be renewed and my life transformed. (Rom 12:2)"
